FASB Building Related Services

  • Rent a Locker - Would you like to rent a locker in 348 FASB for the semester? We have a handful of lockers for rent in room 348 FASB. We rent them for $10 ($5 is a refundable deposit) per semester. To rent one, come see the Department Manager in 383 FASB.

Violence has no place on our campus! All of us must do our part to make sure the U of U is safe for EVERYONE. The SafeU website consolidates safety resources in one place. This includes: How to report an issue; how to confidential counseling or support for any concerns a person wishes to discuss, including help to resolve existing problems, prevent potential problems and develop new skills find; and information and resources on: sexual assault; bias, intolerance, and discrimination; public safety; emergency management services; environmental health and safety; and training.


SafeRide — a campus-safety transportation service brought to you by Commuter Services. It is is essentially the U of U's on-campus rideshare program.

SafeRide provides a safe and reliable mode of transportation on campus to ensure safety during night hours. This free service is available to the university community but is especially meant to serve students on campus at night who need a ride to a parking lot, to their housing area, or to another building on campus.

Students, faculty and staff can request a SafeRide to and from any location on campus, except Research Park. Those in Research Park can request a ride though the Hospital On-Demand shuttle service.

SafeRide operates Monday – Friday from 6 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.

The University of Utah "U Heads Up!" app provides students, faculty, staff and visitors with a quick-reference campus emergency response guide, a photo and comment upload to tell us about your safety concerns around campus, and push notifications from our Campus Alert system. Graduate students have free access to Grammarly via their Umail!

Grammarly Premium is a premiere AI writing assistant that helps develop writing skills as a well as edit text documents, emails, Facebook, Twitter, or any web-based application. The Graduate School has purchased a subscription which provides Grammarly Premium software to all University of Utah graduate/professional students at no cost to the individual.

Students receive access to Grammarly Premium via their Umail account and have access to the software as long as they maintain active status as a graduate student.

The Hive: U of U Research Data Repository

Are you being required to share data resulting from your research?

Is the editor of the journal you’ve submitted to requesting a DOI?

Do you need assistance in determining the best way to share your data for the data management & sharing plan in a grant proposal?

Do you have data from research projects that needs to be stored and/or shared?

Librarians and professional staff at the Marriott and Eccles Health Sciences Libraries are ready and willing to assist you with research data sharing. They can help you locate a data repository based on your discipline and file format using our Repositories for Research Data guide. If no such repository exists, they can assist you in submitting your datasets to The Hive: University of Utah Research Data Repository. Once your data has been submitted to The Hive, they will provide you with a DOI. They can also assist with filling out a README file, adding the appropriate metadata (descriptors), and cleaning up/uploading your datasets.

Virtual Sill Center

The Virtual Sill Center is a digital space (Discord server) that lets you connect with other students as well as University staff and faculty, engage in text or voice chat while engaging with events or studying for classes. 

The Virtual Sill Center has been developed for all undergraduate students at the U. The server allows students to connect with peers they might not otherwise meet, as well as to use the capabilities of Discord for watching/engaging in virtual events together. It is moderated by students trained as peer mentors.

Shipping Hazardous Materials or Dangerous Goods

To increase safety and limit risk, only qualified OEHS personnel can ship hazardous materials from the University of Utah (some exclusions may apply).
